PLASTIC-FREE TRAILS
HELP KEEP NATURE PRISTINE
by François Noah
I hike everyday and see plastic waste pretty much everywhere I go. Mountains, beaches, lakes, all trails where humans go are concerned.
I have started taking the matter in my own hands and try to collect as much plastic waste as possible whenever I can. I think it would be awesome if everyone just carried a little bag to do this small everyday action.
It is a very effective way of caring for our nature.
Before going on a hike or on a walk in nature or walk your dog at the park, please try to take a container or a bag you can fill up with any plastic trash you find.
It is a small but practical way of helping nature staying clean without relying on outside authorities.
We need to act locally to keep nature pristine as much as we can.
‘Saving the planet’ can become a very theoretical catchphrase and is being constantly misused for political gain and power.
We need to start doing little things ourselves and not relinquish our responsibility.
If we all start cleaning the trails while we hike or walk, it will make a small positive change everyday.
